Completing the online Police Officer Application for Employment is the first step in applying for the Big Spring Police Department. Before applying for a position with the Big Spring Police Department, please be sure you meet the minimum requirements and do not meet any of the listed disqualifications. Upon receipt, your application will be reviewed to determine if you qualify to take the written examination. You will be notified of this decision by email. It is not necessary for you to contact the City of Big Spring regarding the status of your application after you have completed and returned your application. If you are eligible to participate in entry level testing, you will be contacted via email.
Informing of Changes
After you have completed and submitted an application, you are required to inform the Human Resources office of any changes i.e. address, phone number, application with other departments, change in certification status, etc. Failure to do so may result in disqualification of your application.
Employment decisions are made solely on the basis of qualifications to perform the work of a Police Officer. Qualifications include education, training, work experience and other factors which are relevant in determining job performance.
